2011

_On 5th and 6th May, 2011, the "Life and the Planet" programme held its first meeting at the Geological Society of London, Burlington House. 21 well-known scientists from the general Earth system science were invited to give talks (Please see Talk List). Among the speakers, James Lovelock and Lynn Margulis, who first challenged the science world almost four decades ago to view the Earth as a complex, regulatory system, gave the keynote talks. The meeting attracted over 150 participants.
